Go BackPoland - Friday 4th August 2006
Here is our report on our Explorer Belt/Queen Scout expedition. We went out to Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia for two weeks from 3rd-17th August 2006. We had an amazing time so we’d like to tell you all about it.

By Laura McLuskey and Shannon McWilliam

We stayed in a hostel called Nathan’s Villa on the first night. It was very nice with a bar, cinema, pool table and internet. We left Nathan’s that morning to go and explore Krakow’s Old Town. We headed up past Wawel castle towards the town centre. The centre was very picturesque with Town Hall Tower right in the middle and St. Mary’s Cathedral on one side.

We had a look at an enclosed market and met some Italian Scouts while we were there. We traded email addresses so we could get in touch when we got home. Afterwards, we wandered back towards Nathan’s Villa to collect some money. We then headed out into the Jewish Quarter of the city for dinner where we discovered loaf burgers.

The infamous 'Loaf Burger'

Following our rather filling dinner, we headed back to the hostel to catch some zeds as we had to get up at quarter to five the next morning!
