- Fri, 27th Jul 2007
The Saturday (28th) was set up day for the campers allowing the Fife group to explore the alpine village that was to be their home for the next twelve days.

In the evening, the group changed back into their kilts and headed to the centre`s sports field for the official start of the Jamboree.

All of the 40 countries present at KanderJam paraded their national flag to the front of the arena and were introduced by Jens, the jamboree director. A few speeched followed and then it was time to party... first song of the night was 500 miles by The Proclaimers, which was more than enough to get the Scots in the mood. Much dancing and many conga lines followed!!!

Here they made many new friends and attracted a lot of interest in their kilts as well as a few questions of “Is that man wearing a skirt?!”

In the afternoon the group enjoyed a pool party at the village pool where they partied with explorers from Montrose; enjoying a game of water polo as well as races, a slide and diving boards.

Saturday 4th was the Scottish contingent`s eco adventure day; a day of discovering how Kandersteg actively helps the amazing delicate environment on which it relies.
